Interested in trying out the MySpace
Profile 2.0, but not fully sure how to use it or install
new layouts? This tutorial will guide you through the
simple steps. Once you get familiar with how it works,
you'll find it easier than ever before to edit the look
and feel of your MySpace! |
 |
Click on the images below to see a full-sized version.
1) Click on the "Profile" button in the
top navigation, then select "Customize
Profile". This is shown in example 1.
If you have not yet activated Profile
2.0, then you will be taken to a page with a
button to do this. Click this button.
Note: In the old version of MySpace,
the "Edit Profile" option was where you
entered your CSS. Now it will be in the
section mentioned above. The "Edit Profile"
section is strictly for editing the text in
your MySpace. |

Example 1. Click to expand. |
2) You will now see a box at the top of
your profile, which has all of the editing
options in it (refer to example 2). Make
sure that "No Theme" is selected on this
screen, otherwise it can mess up the look of
the layout you install.
|
|

Example 2. Click to expand.
|
3) Now click on the "CSS" button to
the left (refer to example 3).
4) This will open up a empty box
where the themes were listed before
(refer again to example 3). Paste your
desired Profile 2.0 layout code in this
box.
|
|

Example 3. Click to
expand.
|
5) Once you have done the above
steps, you may click on the
"Preview" button if you wish to see
how it will look. Once you're
satisfied, make sure to click
"Publish" to save the layout and
settings (refer to example 4).
|

Example 4. Click to
expand.
|
|
6) Now that your layout
is installed you can arrange the
boxes within your profile
however you like. Most layouts
should allow for any arrangement
you desire, so have some fun and
experiment. Simply drag and drop
the boxes in the profile below
(while in "Customize Profile"
mode) into different positions.
Add and remove different boxes
by clicking on "Modules" on the
left. You can also change how
many columns you have and what
size of boxes go where by going
into the "Change Layout"
section, which is listed below
"Select Theme" (refer to example
2).
7) That's all there is
to it, so enjoy your new profile
style! Just remember to click
"Publish" (example 4) every time
you wish to save new changes.
